pitchfork ha l'anteprima di un pezzo degli Other Lives remixato dagli Atoms for Peace (tranquilli, Flea non si sente)

Having wrapped up a successful spring tour, including dates supporting Radiohead, Other Lives are pleased to announce a new remix of their single "Tamer Animals" by Atoms For Peace. Listen to the premiere of "Tamer Animals" (Atoms For Peace Remix) on Pitchfork now. Vinyl & digital release of the remix will be available August 6th on 50 Weapons. Other Lives are currently on tour in the UK & will be heading off to Japan & China in August before returning to the US & Canada for a full tour this fall with supporting act Indians (4AD). Look out for a new Other Lives EP this fall on tbd records (US) / PIAS (Worldwide).

C'è già molta attesa, come vedete in spoiler
Press

MOJO: "More visceral, muscular, affecting and energizing than their recorded output has so far implied, Other Lives' rendering of their deft and sophisticated soundworld is revelatory stuff."

The Guardian: "On record, Other Lives have a spectacularly luscious and vivid sound: almost every rave review of their second album, Tamer Animals, reached for the adjective "cinematic" to describe the richness of its arrangements."

The Independent: "Americana’s latest high-plains drifters swoon and swagger through a stately, widescreen display of Morricone mood-scapes and pioneer poetry."

Fourth & Main: "It's not just fans and critics who are luxuriating in their wistful harmonies and epic panoramas of sound; Bon Iver and Radiohead have both fallen under Other Lives' spell and so will you.."

Filter 89%: "Other Lives have managed to pull off a feat more remarkable than releasing a few engaging tunes—they’ve created an album. A dark mediation on man’s relationship with beasts, Tamer Animals highlights the band’s ability to skirt precious by painting with the dark hues of cello, bassoon, piano, guitar and Jesse Tabish’s Lennon-by-way-of-Wainwright vocals. Tamer Animals proves that more of less isn’t just memorable—it’s damn near magical."

Pitchfork: "meticulously written and arranged and, at times, vividly cinematic. In the wrong hands, this music could feel labored or overstuffed, but thanks to the makeshift orchestra's shaggy ringleader, Jesse Tabish, these wistful Americana-styled tracks (influenced by Tabish favorites Sigur Rós and Godspeed You! Black Emperor) rarely feel forced. Instead of the big studio sound of their self-titled debut, Tamer Animals feels organic and lovingly crafted, a record whose lushness often invites you to simply collapse into it."

Paste Magazine: "In 2009, we called Other Lives self-titled record "criminally underrated." Now the band has a new record called Tamer Animals slated for a May 10 release on TBD Records/White Iris Records, and we're determined to help get them the attention they deserve. "

KCRW: "Oklahoma's Other Lives have just put the finishing touches on a truly sensational sophomore release, 'Tamer Animals'. Lush and haunting"

Consequence Of Sound: "Expect your hairs to stand on end or expect to shed a tear and not know why. Simply feel inspired, because you can’t help but be taken on a journey upon listening."

Absolute Punk 95 %:"Tamer Animals, the sophomore full-length from Oklahoma based quintet Other Lives is a beautiful and equally powerful listen."
Dice Thom:
