As you may know, Loverman disbanded in 2009. This is an email to let you know what some of them are up to now.

Gabriel Bruce’s first solo single, Sleep Paralysis is the sound of the ex-Loverman vocalist finding a new voice, with his former band’s primal energies being recalibrated into an impassioned sweeping synthesizer symphony.

The single has been picked up on by The Fader, NME, The Guardian, The Fly, Dummy, RCRDLBL, Dazed and Confused, i-D, Ilikemusic, Loud and Quiet lots of blogs. If you haven’t yet come into contact with it check out the video directed by Ferry Gouw (The xx, Tom Vek, Lightspeed Champion) here.

Sleep Paralysis is a limited edition 7” vinyl release with 300 copies purchasable solely in physical format. It’s available to buy for worldwide shipping on offmodern.com as well as via Rough Trade East and West and Piccadilly Records in Manchester.

Bruce's debut 7” is incorporated into a 50 page illustrated book which looks into the phenomenon of sleep paralysis, featuring cuttings and ephemera of people’s recollections of the sensation. The book features three different paper stocks, colour photos, a variety of different printing effects, a card cover and facsimile of rare writings on Sleep Paralysis. The cover is hugged by a bellyband, available in scarlet, royal blue, sapphire or mandarin.

For further updates do take a minute to ‘like’ Gabriel on Facebook. He’ll be playing live at the launch party for Sleep Paralysis in London in February and will be gigging across the UK later in the year.

For any further information about the release or Gabriel don’t hesitate to get in touch at contact@offmodern.com.

Former Loverman guitarist Jon Jackson has also recently started gigging with his new band. Check out DuD on Facebook and bandcamp.

Have a great week.

Peccato davvero, un album al livello dell'ep di esordio sarebbe stata una gran cosa.
