Hi everyone,

I’m overjoyed to announce to you that a record I’m so proud of is finally ready to burst out into world.

On July 10th I will be releasing Extra Mile, the official follow-up to my debut album Nothing Special.

Extra Mile picks up on the high plains where Nothing Special wrapped up and then launches into space. It’s one of the most musically adventurous things I've done and it feels to me like a warm, glowing testament to the friendship of the players and the big questions we gathered together to bat around, there in a little shack at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, with the studio doors open and the summer wind blowing in.

To me the whole spirit of Extra Mile feels encapsulated in our first single, “Funny Feeling,” which is a kind of space-mountain rollercoaster tour through what it means to be a soul born into a body, and which features some of my favorite musical performances I've ever managed to capture on tape.

The whole Extra Mile album is now available to pre-order on vinyl and CD, and in one week I'm thrilled to be journeying out on tour with my dear friends The New Pornographers, playing your old favorites and also giving you more sneak peeks into the world of these songs. I hope to see you all there and catch up.
