Two New Smashing Pumpkins Albums Set for 2015

Pleased to announce that I’ve just inked a new record deal with BMG that will see the release of two Smashing Pumpkins albums in 2015; titled successively: ‘Monuments To An Elegy’ and ‘Day For Night.’ For those interested in sound, think: ‘guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars;’ but more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic. Recording sessions begin today, as plenty of songs have been written and ready to go. Manning the boards will be producer Howard Willing, with whom I first had the pleasure of working with during the ‘Adore’ sessions. We expect a single out by year’s end.

Additionally, this stands as the initial post on a new nexus: The Panopticon, which through its simplicity should better address the speed of modern life. A continuing feature, items regarding each day’s recording will be shared that same evening, with song titles, lyrics, poetic impressions, pictures, sound clips, studio gear and the like offered for a circuitous, bird’s eye view of the process as it unfolds.

Dando uno sguardo generale ci sono sia canzoni potenzialmente mai ascoltate sia roba buttata dentro a caso come una versione di Saturnine, Cash Car Star...
Qualche concerto del periodo l'ho visto sia online che messo su DVD e meritano tantissimo...comunque è un'altra botta da 100 euro. Una volta ottenuti gli inediti non so quanto senso potrebbe avere.

io sono fan terminale e ho comprato tutte le reissue....la più bella esteticamente quella di mellon collie, meravigliosa, mi fermo a guardare l'artwork allargato che ho sempre trovato stupendo, la più soddisfacente a livello di contenuti quella di aeroplane flies high...un mondo di roba. Interessante per audiofili come me la versione mono di adore che è inclusa in questo box, forse la parte che mi interessa di più...chiaro, se ascoltate la musica più bella creata nel vostro ipod con le vostre cuffie scrause non sono cose per voi ahah si scherza ovviamente

Si trova la reissue di Adore nel solito posto, con tantissimi demo e versioni alternative. Anche stavolta, come con Tweedy, l'avrei mancata in pieno se mi fossi fermato solo alla prima pagina. O è la mia connessione assurda che non aggiorna il sito oppure questi non possono mettere in risalto certe uscite su certe etichette.

Basta saperlo che gli cambio il nome in hiddenalbumreleases.

Un ascolto qua e là:

- Sadlands Demo stupendi, messi uno in fila all'altro nel terzo disco sembrano un Adore parte 2.
- Qualche outtake già conosciuta, qualcuna completamente inedita.
- "Pug", "Daphne Descends" e un altro paio di rivisitazioni electro datate 2014, stile NIN dei poveri.
- Versioni live semi-acustiche tra cui una "Ava Adore" bellissima. "Tear" uguale.

Insomma c'è da perdersi come al solito, appena posso mi ci dedico. Costa 60 euro, potrebbe anche valerli, vedrò.

Sono semplicemente prodotti da songwriter sul viale del tramonto, non più in grado di scrivere canzoni che siano un tutt'uno e funzionino. Nulla di scandaloso, almeno.
