Ben Frost
Re: Ben Frost
Sensazioni dall'ascolto del CD
01. mi sembra registrato a volume più basso. A parità di volume, se li mettevo a +18, i due precedenti facevano tremare casa. Questo no.

The Centre Cannot Hold was recorded over ten days by Steve Albini in Chicago. The music exists not in space, but in a space; it is a document of an event, of a room, and of the composer within it. It is music that is not fully controlled and appears to be anxiously, often violently competing against its creator.
In collaborating with Albini, Frost chooses a new immediacy and raw directness. As an artist whose command of sound design lies at the heart of his practice, by placing himself primarily in the role of live performer and handing the studio recording process over to Albini, Frost continues pursuit of Theseus’ paradox; the question of whether a ship restored by replacing every single part remains the same ship.

Ben Frost 'Catastrophic Deliquescence' from the Vinyl album 'Music From Fortitude 2015-2018' - coming out on Mute | Pre-Order: https://SMARTURL.IT/BF-MFF
Re: Ben Frost
in pratica:
_CATASTROPHIC DELIQUESCENCE (MUSIC FROM FORTITUDE 2015-2018)_ is a
collection of Frost’s work for Sky Atlantic's Fortitude series,
available here for on vinyl for the first time with brand new artwork.
Over three seasons, Frost’s glacial compositions accompanied the
critically acclaimed crime drama and this collection of work stands up
as a release in its own right, entirely separate to the series. Frost
has said _“__Only a few short years later it’s easy to forget how
revolutionary Fortitude was when it first appeared - A head on
collision of real-world science and environmental horror. The
multi-national cast and a cacophony of accents and ideas. And it was a
punch in the fucking face. And I am so proud to have been a small part
of it.”_
_DARK: CYCLE 1 __and DARK: CYCLE 2 (ORIGINAL MUSIC FROM THE NETFLIX
ORIGINAL SERIES)_ are both released on CD and vinyl via Invada Records
/ Lakeshore Records. On these soundtracks Ben Frost’s dynamic and
ominous orchestrations provide a striking backdrop to the surreal
German supernatural thriller, Dark, elevating the score to the status
of a cast member. Says Frost: _“Working in this strange and beautiful
world of light and shadow has been a gift and an endless source of
inspiration”._
Ben Frost’s soundtracks and collaborations have seamlessly worked
alongside his own solo releases and at times have informed his album
releases, such as on 2014’s debut for Mute, _A U R O R A_, which took
inspiration from elements of his travels to the DR Congo with
collaborators Richard Mosse and Trevor Tweeten during work The
Enclave. Frost’s scores for film, television and performance include
Sleeping Beauty (_Dir. Julia Leigh, 2011_), the score for renowned
choreographer Wayne McGregor’s FAR (2010), _Music for Solaris_
(2010) co-written with Daniel Bjarnason, commissioned by Unsound
festival and inspired by Tarkovsky’s _Solaris _and in 2013 he directed
and wrote the opera interpretation of Iain Banks’ cult novel The Wasp
Factory which premiered at the Royal Opera House, London. Ben released
his most recent studio album, _The Centre Cannot Hold_, in 2017 and is
currently working on a new opera _The Murder of Halit Yozgat_ which
premieres in Hannover in 2020.
_RECENT PRAISE FOR BEN FROST_
_“…a molten core shines through providing just enough fire to keep the
shadows from overwhelming the light” – CRACK MAGAZINE_ _“… __sonic
shades cloak and flicker with resonant depth, ingesting recent
orchestral pursuits for something colossal__” – __NPR_ _“moving from
heroic vistas into a garbled, snow-blinded melee.
Distant choral pads, a glistening upper-register sheen, submerged
piano, and groaning harmonies all stack up into a geologic crescendo
that extends into infinity.” – Pitchfork_ _“…compelling” Echoes &
Dust_ _“…__engrossing… from first hammer blow to last squeak” – The
405_ _“…shows off a more compositionally direct Frost” – The Wire_

Re: Ben Frost
I got thisCATASTROPHIC DELIQUESCENCE (MUSIC FROM FORTITUDE 2015-2018)
sono tutte tracce di 1 minuto e 45 secondi di media
alla fine c'è abbastanza continuità di suono però
è roba molto malvagia a tratti
Re: Ben Frost
Dilaniante questo album minore di Bofrost. Come sa tirarti giù solo lui.
