a) è perché lui con il dubstep ha a che fare eccome;
b) è perché è stato bravo a fare un disco che mette d'accordo direi tutti.
sadstep, soulstep, popstep in James Blake

Inizio a prenderci gusto, inaspettatamente

D'accordo che non sia eccezionale ma che non sia affatto da buttare. Secondo me ci sono belle idee, e gusto nella scelta dei suoni, c'è personalità.

News dalla hyperdub:

[spoiler]Hyperdub Feb News and Releases
Welcome to the latest transmission from Hyperdub HQ.

HYP010: Kode9 and The Spaceape: Otherman / Love is the Drug (Feat Cha Cha) Release Date: 4th April 2011 These two songs make up the lead single from Kode9 and the Spaceape's second album 'Black' Sun'. Coming from oblique angles, these two songs introduce the breadth of the album.
Otherman opens with a sombre, arpeggiated march built from wavering analogue synth drones, lulling the listener until Spaceape's cracked communique interrupts the flow with downtrodden descriptions, wrapped around lop-sided rhythms. Sombre, flatline funk.
Love is the Drug features the vocals of Cha Cha, a singer from Shanghai, who guests across 4 tracks from the album. Love is the Drug operates on a raw emotional level, over a droning synth and an aggressively coiling drum pattern with the sound of a pumping heartbeat at the centre. Cha Cha's vocals drift into a sensual pattern as the melody sours under her, before confirming the suffocation of love, with Spaceape whispering over her shoulder.
Black Sun is released on 14th of April CD / LP / Digital

Singles for January and February

First single of 2011 was HDBO44: Morgan Zarate: Hookid Morgan Zarate used to be Morgan Spacek, producer of one of the future soul act of the same name and collaborator with luminaries such as Ghostface, Slum Village and others.
This is hi his first release for Hyperdub with a three track EP and came out in late January.
The ep features three tracks of music around the 140bpm mark that are almost 4D, dense and colourful musical camouflage around a fantastic sense of groove and melody.
He's busy working on his Hyperdub debut, which should come out later this year.
He's done a mix here for URB and an interview, so get comfortable.
Interview with Fact here
The single can be bought here or at any store on the internet or local record store.

HDB049 Funkystepz: Fuller / Hurricane Riddim
Funkystepz are a collective of house producers from North London, with a show on Rinse FM and a string of self-released, underground hits under their belts.
We picked this as a single as it fits the Hyperdub sound, it's one of those tracks that will lively up any club straight away, doing away with the forced euphoria of alot of contemporary dance music, and instead honing the harder to come by skill of energetic intensity and building anticipation.
Hurricane Riddim takes the listener through a number of contrasting moods simply but effectively. Opening with heavy orchestral stabs and military snares reminiscent of classic grime The addition of a complicated, snaking bassline gives the track a jump up feel, and the 8 bar aggression gives way to sections of orchestral calm with a bouncy piano melody.
Interview and mix from them here at Fact.
The single can be bought here or at any online or physical retailers of your choice.
