Dopo 5 ascolti completi mi viene da dire che è oggettivo che questo è il loro miglior disco da Wish. Meglio di Bloodflowers

Se così è, io a sto punto devo ancora capire se il fatto che questo sia il miglior materiale dei Cure dal 1992 (millenovecentonovantadue!!) a oggi sia una cosa buona perché questo disco è grandioso, o se il problema è che quel che c'è stato nel mezzo è ulteriormente da ridimensionare in negativo.
Mi sa la prima: questo è veramente un buon disco.

ROBERT SMITH says he already has plans for THE CURE’s NEXT TWO ALBUMS, even though “Songs of a Lost World” was just released.

“I kind of know what the next album is already,” Smith said while speaking with NPR in a new interview. “I know what the next nine songs are because five of them have been sitting there living together. We've actually played three of them live. So they're ‘new songs’ in inverted commas. These are actually songs that, I think, Cure fans have been expecting to emerge with definitive versions. They’ve been waiting for them for a long, long time, longer than 16 years in some cases.”

When asked if the next album will be “thematically similar to this [one]”, Smith replied:

No, the third one. In my mind, it's like a redemptive kind of arc. That's how I see it in terms of concepts. Mainly it's, like, notes pinned on my wall, reminding me what I should and shouldn't be doing. So it is a transitional record, the next one — depending on how it’s sequenced and what songs end up on it. There are four incredibly sad songs still to come and I'm tempted to try and marry those with some that are slightly more left-field for the next record, and then leave the third record for something that's very much more light and upbeat. That's my intention; whether I get there or not is another thing entirely.”

Sappiamo per certo che per questo album ha scelto le canzoni giuste, quelle che stavano bene assieme
E bisogna dirgli un grazie grosso come una casa per quello che ha riacceso. E' un disco di canzoni vere, possibili ancora nel 2024, da parte di una band che non si è venduta e che oggi raccoglie una volta ancora l'affetto della sua legione di fan, ormai distesa su almeno 3 generazioni, forse 4.
