Mi è arrivato qualche giorno fa "Il consumatore"...ma la notizia ancor più bella e che si stava aspettando è che a gennaio 2022 iniziano le registrazioni del nuovo capitolo degli Swans...notizia confermata direttamente dalla loro pagina instagram ufficiale.

Speriamo in un passo avanti, gli ultimi erano belli ma troppo simili

Già nell'ultimo c'era Ben Frost, ma non si è sentito gran che. Sicuramente un'occasione persa. Io insisto che dovrebbero dilatare i pezzi e puntare sull'ambient apocalittico. In questo senso elementi elettronici si inserirebbero bene.

l'ultimo per quanto bello,è un pò troppo "calmo" per i miei gusti e non poi così fuori di testa,come i precedenti.

spero che il prossimo sia sulla scia di questa annichilente suite di 45 minuti,"The knot",che per me è qualcosa di splendido.la ascolto spesso e volentieri quando vado a fare running,e sotto il cielo plumbeo e battente pioggia di queste prime giornate d'inverno,è un'autentica goduria

Beh dai, col drone si sposerebbero benissimo. Specialmente su tracce con alto minutaggio.

c'era chi lo diceva anche per i Radiohead all'uscita di Kid A, tantissimi.

gli Swans fanno già musica che si avvicina al drone. Il drone può essere fatto con strumenti analogici, alla Earth o Sunn o))), o con i sintetizzatori e le tastiere. Non penso che abbia avvicinato Ben Frost a caso

Hello There!
This is to let you know there is now a fundraiser available for the new Swans album. Your support will go a long way in ensuring a fully realized and well produced album. The songs for the new album were written over the last year or so in the midst of the seemingly endless pandemic, in which, at the time of this writing, we still somehow find ourselves. We had planned an extensive tour for the last album, Leaving Meaning, but it was canceled, and then rescheduled again several times before we finally and abjectly conceded defeat and decided to wait it out. After a period of deep and dulled depression stemming primarily from the inability to move forward, I finally decided to abandon plans for that tour entirely and to instead write new songs for a new album. The result is the 10 songs now available here ( https://younggodrecords.com/products/is ... lly-a-mind ). As is usual in the process, these are simple versions of the songs performed at home with acoustic guitar and my voice. Though the performances here stand on their own these recordings will also act as a template for the coming work with other musicians (see list of musicians at the link). At my current station in the life cycle I’m increasingly aware that this (or any) effort might be my last. I believe these songs contain something of that sense of finality and the urgency of countering it… My gratitude for your support in funding the recordings and my outsized appetite for sound knows no bounds. At certain times the urge to just give up has been quite seductive, but I’m reminded that there’s a core group of people that care about the work and receive meaning from it, and that knowledge helps to propel me forward.
